This approach was best highlighted by the launch of the UK Innovator Visa, as there is no room to misinterpret its main objective.<\/span><\/p>\n

After a slow start, the UK’ Innovator Visa finally got into its stride, as applications rose a staggering 330% year-on-year between 2019 and 2020. The number continued to grow in 2021, and if past data is any indication, the number of applications will continue to grow.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, as popular as the Innovator Visa is, there are various other routes for the world’s best professionals to consider when looking to immigrate to the UK, such as the Start-Up Visa, or the High Potential Individual Visa. The Innovator Visa<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

The premise of the innovator visa is simple, those who meet these requirement<\/span>s can apply for a residence permit (leave to enter) in the UK:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  • Must be willing to set up and run an innovative business (meaning a business not available in the UK market yet) on UK shores<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Must obtain an endorsement letter from a <\/span>government-approved endorsement body<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n
  • Must have enough money to reside in the UK without access to public funds<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Must invest 50,000 GBP into the business<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Must be over 18, and<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Must meet the English language requirement.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Successful applicants will obtain a three-year visa, which is extendable for another three years at the end of its initial terms. However, at the time of extension, they must maintain or obtain another endorsement.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    After spending<\/span> five years in the UK, they can then apply for <\/span>a <\/span>permanent residence (indefinite leave to remain) and then citizenship after the sixth year, if they meet the minimum physical residence requirement, of course.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
