The Caribbean nation of Dominica established diplomatic relations with Bangladesh at the end of 2020. The agreement will benefit both countries in different aspects of mutual interest.<\/span><\/p>\n

Signed in New York by the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations, Rabab Fatima, along with Permanent Representative of Dominica to the United Nations, Loreen Ruth Bannis-Roberts, this agreement and the relations it has cultivated, are set to drive both countries towards greater prosperity and security.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This agreement facilitates the expansion of the export market and increases employment opportunities. It will also address several economic, political, social, cultural, scientific and humanitarian issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fighting Climate Change Together<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

Both Dominica and Bangladesh are leaders in terms of climate change resilience. <\/span>Bangladesh shares the vision to eliminate poverty and attain economic and social well-being for its citizens. This goal is set to be achieved through the country\u2019s Climate Change Strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Similarly, with a focus on climate resilience, Dominica has made great strides in recent years. Following a devastating hurricane in 2017, the country executed an action plan to ensure the Commonwealth of Dominica was well-prepared should another disaster strike the Caribbean island.<\/span><\/p>\n
